From Our 2001-2002 Season:

Who's Who in “Labor Day”

James Gomez (Ralph) recently worked on the musical staging for Free to be You and Me, a Kaleidoscope Theatre production here at the Summit Playhouse. Other roles include Lucifer in The Creation of the World and Other Business, Crank in Forty Deuce and Arnall in Line.

Tom Lyttle (John) has performed in over forty plays in the past two decades. His previous roles at the Summit Playhouse are Dr. Lyman in Bus Stop, three characters in Later Life, Warnie in Shadowlands, Sherlock Holmes in Hound of the Baskervilles, David in Mornings at Seven, and Jim in The Girls in 509. Tom and his wife Marie, who live in Mendham, are enjoying their first grandchild Aiden Reed Jones.

Christopher Moore (Dennis) grew up - at least partially and periodically - at the Summit Playhouse. As a fourth grader, he appeared in A Thousand Clowns. Other Playhouse credits include Tight Spot, 84 Charing Cross Road, Marvin's Room, Don't Dress for Dinner, and The Heiress. He has also performed with other community theaters. A newspaper editor and writer with weekly newspapers in Manhattan, he lives in Summit.

Barbara Neff (Ellen) first appeared on our stage, almost twenty years ago, as Esty in Mornings At Seven. She subsequently portrayed Dr. Petrelli in Tribute and Grandma Kurnitz in Lost In Yonkers here at the Summit Playhouse. Some of her favorite recent roles at other theaters in the North New Jersey area are Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest, Mrs. Fisher in Enchanted April, Madame Armfeldt in A Little Night Music, and Lettice in Lettice & Lovage.

Caroline Rosch (Ginny) has returned to Summit after recently graduating from Colby College with double majors in music and performing arts. In the past year she performed as a featured soloist with the Colby Symphony Orchestra, and traveled to Rome, Italy for her opera debut in Hänsel und Gretel. Caroline's roles on the dramatic stage include Into the Woods (the Witch), Cabaret (Fraulein Schneider), Midsummer Nights Dream (Hippolyta), and City of Angels (Gabby/Bobbi). Labor Day is Caroline's first production with the Summit Playhouse, and she'd like to extend a special thanks to her fellow company members for welcoming her to the fold.

Joann Scanlon (Director) has been working in the theater for 30 years, and loves it more than ever. She has directed Enchanted April, Nunsense, and Shadowlands amongst others for the Playhouse. Most recently, she directed Breakfast With Les & Bess at the Bickford Theatre in Morristown.
