You should never ask a hypochondriac, "How are you?",
because you will hear, at boring length,
just how unwell he is, and how much he suffers.
So it is with Argan, our "imaginary" invalid, who
believes the solution to all his ills is to propel
his daughter into marriage with a doctor, to avoid
paying doctor's fees!
Thus begins Molière's hilarious lampoon on the medical profession.
The Imaginary Invalid
is a colorful, witty, period-costumed, delight of a play.
